These inscriptions were made on walls, plank beds and doors of cell 46-the death cell-in the First Gestapo Gaol and in the cells of Tiraspol’s Second Gaol. These cells once held Soviet patriots condemned to be shot. Most of the inscriptions were made in Russian, some in Rumanian, and a few reproduced in English and French.
