p The National Vaccine Information Center (NV1C), founded in 1982 by parents of vaccine injured children, is a nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to preventing vaccine injuries and deaths through public education and defending the right of all citizens to informed consent to vaccination. NV1C takes the position that scientific evidence to date is not sufficient to prove HIV causes AIDS and that if an HIV vaccine is made available to the public in the future, no citizen should be required to use it without their voluntary, informed consent. NV1C maintains that the ethical principle of informed consent, which is applied to all other medical procedures carrying a risk of injury or death, must be applied to all vaccinations, including a future AIDS vaccine.
