STATEMENT
of the International Meeting

[Statement in Support of the Just Struggle of the Arab Peoples Against Israeli Aggression.]

p Two years ago Israel launched an open aggression against the UARS Jordan and Syria. Since then, the Israeli ruling circles, supported by the imperialists, above all by the US imperialists, world reaction and Zionist circles, continue to occupy Arab territories seized as a result of the aggression, refusing to fulfil the UN decisions, including those of the Security Council; they are enforcing their expansionist and annexationist policy, perpetrating acts of repression against the Arab population in the occupied areas, and incessantly committing fresh military provocations.

p The International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties resolutely condemns Israel’s continued aggression, which is a gross violation of the national rights of the Arab peoples, including the lawful rights of the Arab people of Palestine, a gross violation of the UN Charter, Which condemns aggression.

p In their just struggle against aggression the Arab peoples have the effective support of the socialist countries, primarily of the Soviet Union. In this struggle they are backed by the world communist movement, the national liberation forces and ever growing sections of the public in the capitalist countries.

p The Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties holds that peace arid tranquility in this area can be established only provided Israeli troops are withdrawn from all occupied Arab territories and the Security Council resolution of November 22, 1967 is fully implemented.

p The Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties appeals to all progressive forces throughout the world to increase their effective support for, and enhance their solidarity with, the Arab peoples in their just struggle.
